Food Truck Friday in Providence

Updated: Nov 2, 2021

Various Food Trucks gather weekly at the Providence Pedestrian Bridge and serve food, drinks and desserts.

An event that unfortunately is winding down as colder weather approaches, Food Truck Friday is a really fun way to sample local businesses. I dragged two of my roommates along with me as this is definitely a spot for a group of friends to sample and share food together. Located at the Providence Pedestrian bridge, trucks lined the walkway with options from appetizers to burgers and even ice cream. Naturally, we had to try a little bit of everything.

We started with grabbing a drink from The Guild PVD beer garden. They had tables that were nicely distanced apart with umbrellas where everyone could sit and eat. The drinks were a decent price for a good size cup.

We decided on an appetizer from Ming’s Asian Street Food while we browsed all of the options. We got their Street Fries which were crispy fries topped with sweet chilli and spicy mayo. They were the perfect combination of sweet and spicy and it was definitely a unique dish.

After the fries we continued with the appetizers. We each got two empanadas from the Spanglish truck. I tried a chicken fajita and ground beef empanada and they were amazing. Perfectly crispy on the outside and packed full of flavor on the inside.

After these we were so stuffed we couldn’t even think about more food so we ended up skipping the ice cream truck, but I just wish I could try one of the fun cones they had to offer. After enjoying our food we walked it off by walking across the bridge and around the area for a little as the sun set over the city. Food Truck Friday at the bridge was a great and affordable thing to do with friends. We didn’t spend too much money and we left the city being full for the rest of the day, a great way to start the weekend!
